You know you're unique, an individual with personal needs. Contrary to general beliefs, not all of us benefit from a cookie cutter plan to our wellbeing and life transitions. Some of us require a creative self care plan that begins with remembering our own uniqueness and once we do... it's like riding a bike.
Creating a Bucket List of adventures can be a fun way to kick into gear our self healing.
Definition: a list of things that one has not done before but wants to do in their lifetime.
I believe this list could also include things we use to do but have forgotten we love. Like drawing action figure comic books, riding a toy train or, building beautiful buildings -- out of Legos. A soul connection as part of our self care journey can be ignited when we remember what our hearts wished for a long time ago, now buried under a pile of duties. Remember when we made a cape out of bed sheets and instantly became Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman? Building that special fort or tree house? Finger painting? Camping in your backyard and roasting marshmallows while looking up at the stars? Where did our sense of creative spontaneity go?
As children we imagined it and then we did it. When did you last wish for something soul fulfilling to happen but then stopped yourself because you think being responsible couldn't possibly include having fun? Well, it's never too late to change all that and tap into your creative visions of what makes your heart smile.
Studies show that spiritual healing is a necessary part of our human journey and remembering what makes us happy is part of that. Jeanne Achterberg, PhD believes that medicine is a spiritual practice that creates healing through profound relationship bonds at five levels: the transpersonal bond, soul connection, touch, community, and love. A bucket list could be the soul re-connection your heart needs to begin your journey.
